SGS-X is a halogen-free expandable braided fibreglass sleeve impregnated with silicone varnish. It has an operating temperature of -70°C to +300°C and withstands short-term peaks up to 450°C. It is UL approved and available in several colours and sizes up to 50mm supplied diameter as standard.
SGS-X is flexible, fray resistant, and compatible with most impregnating varnish systems. Thanks to its thermal and electrical insulating properties and the mechanical protection offered, it is often used in heaters as well as harnesses and hydraulic/ fuel conduits which are subjected to high temperatures. The primary difference between this fibreglass sleeve and our standard silicone coated jacket is its ability to expand to over twice its supplied diameter. This allows for ease of assembly especially over sets of wire of differing diameters. It also ensures a snug fit on components which vary in size.
